Tink names new UK head
Open banking platform Tink has appointed Tom Pope as head of its UK office, just seven months after he joined the business.
Pope, who previously ran product strategy and new product management for FIS, joined Tink in June 2021 as head of payments and platforms. In addition to leading the group’s London branch, Pope will continue to run Tink’s global payments business.
‘Open banking had a phenomenal year in 2021, with millions of consumers discovering the superior user experiences open banking can enable,’ Pope said.
‘Think is experiencing huge growth in the UK and more widely across Europe, and we are excited to continue to partner with leading banks, merchants and PSPs to increase innovation in financial services.’

In addition to Pope’s appointment, Tink has also promoted Tasha Chouhan to UK & IE banking lead. She joined the business in 2020 as a senior business manager from Starling Bank, where she was head of business development for banking services.
Founded in 2012 in Stockholm, Tink now has offices in 13 countries. It employs 500 people, who serve more than 300 banks and fintech companies across Europe. Last year, the firm was acquired by Visa for €1.8bn (£1.5bn).
Most recently, the business launched an income verification tool in the UK to speed up the time it takes lenders to verify a borrower’s income.
