Bondora’s originations reached €20.5m in November
Bondora’s originations reached €20.5m (£17.6m) last month, a record amount for the year and the second highest total in the European peer-to-peer lending platform’s history.
For the first time since relaunching into the Finnish market, Bondora also originated B- and C-category loans and D-loans. During November, Finland finally overtook Estonia in terms of loan percentage share.

Finnish loans made up 55.1 per cent of the loan portfolio, Estonian loans amounted to 44.3 per cent, and the share of Spanish loans rose from 0.1 per cent to 0.6 per cent.
In November, 2,993 new investors signed up to Bondora, bringing the total number of investors to 180,952 people. The platform’s total investments have increased to €522m, up more than €18m from October. Lenders have also earned more than €59m in returns in total.

Bondora saw a slight two per cent rise in secondary market transactions to total €257,149 in November after declining to share figures for the previous two months. All three categories of API, manual transactions and portfolio manager transactions showed increases.
The platform also recovered €872,189 in default payments last month and at 79.2 per cent, 2021 still has the highest recovery rate for the last seven years.

“The continued increase in originations and investments is the perfect reason to be excited about the last month of 2021,” Bondora said in a blog on its website.
“After months of continued growth, Finland finally took over the biggest share in originations.
“Although it was not surprising, we’re keen to see whether they’ll hold this position in the months to come. Let’s see if we can beat our origination record in December 2021!”
