Sancus hires P2P veteran as head of sales for the North
Sancus has appointed Melanie Fourie, who has experience working at both RateSetter and Funding Circle, as head of sales for the North of England.
The alternative finance provider said that Fourie (pictured) will be implementing its UK growth strategy in the North, increasing its presence across the region, initially by recruiting a business development team of property specialists.
She will be based in Manchester.
Fourie joins from specialist lender Together where she built their national non-broker strategy.
Prior to this, she worked at RateSetter and Funding Circle as a strategic partnerships manager in their specialist property teams. Before this she spent over a decade in various roles at Barclays Bank.

“I am truly excited to join Sancus and help build on the amazing foundations that started offshore and in London,” said Fourie.
“The company is now building a strong brand and presence right across the UK and Ireland, as well as in its original offshore jurisdictions.
“I am really looking forward to building a brand new team, harnessing an amazing culture and having the ability to grow our proposition to meet the needs of clients and businesses right across the board.”

“Bringing Mel into the Sancus team is a great coup for us, with her vast experience in property lending and extensive network of contacts, she is a great fit for our planned expansion in the UK,” said Richard Whitehouse, sales director, UK at Sancus.
Sancus rebranded from GLI Finance earlier this year. It specialises in property bridging and development financing from £100,000 to £10m-plus throughout the UK, Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar.
In September, the property lender hired Matt Davies as director of offshore funding in its Jersey office and appointed two business development managers, Emma Tempest and Saimir Kurti, to expand its bridging finance division.
