The number of UK investors using European peer-to-peer lender EstateGuru doubled last year.
The property finance provider said this suggests Brexit has not deterred or stopped Brits from using its platform.
Piret Reinson, head of marketing and communication for EstateGuru, said the platform had 590 investors at the end of 2019, which grew to 1,200 by the end of last year.
“There’s no influence regarding accessing these investment opportunities from all over the world, Reinson said.
“We’ve got all our anti-money laundering and know your customer processes in place and the investor just needs to be verified after which they can start investing.
“Perhaps after Brexit, UK citizens are more eager to look around and more open to discover new opportunities?”
EstateGuru currently has 70,000 investors from 106 different countries.
The platform saw its lending volumes increase by 50 per cent year-on-year to €120.2m (£106.4m) in 2020, boosted by a bumper performance in the fourth quarter.
The European peer-to-peer lender said its loan volumes increased by 102.71 per cent to €48.3m in the fourth quarter compared to the same period last year and revenues increased by 133.43 per cent to €1.8m.
