Ablrate partners with Reading FC
Ablrate has become an associated partner of Reading Football Club.
The peer-to-peer business lending platform now has LED adverts of its logo on two sides of the club’s ground, the Madejski Stadium. Reading FC is Ablrate’s local football club and hosts networking events for local small businesses, which the platform can now attend.
Last Saturday the lender’s logo was prominently seen in the background when Reading FC’s Lucas João scored a penalty in the Championship side’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest Football Club.

“Our logo is now on Sky Sports and it will be even better with fans in the stadium,” said David Bradley-Ward, chief executive of Ablrate.
“We’re always looking for opportunities to get the brand out there for a cost-effective amount of money.
“We sponsored the PGA EuroPro golf for two years and we’re football fans here so decided to look at sponsorship opportunities in football and Reading FC are our local club.
“We can meet local businesses at the networking events and talk about what we do from a lender perspective.
“We’re also able to access boxes at Reading FC and we’ll use those for our local borrowers and our lenders – it’ll be nice to take people involved in the platform to show them a good time. One box is free a year and the other times it’s reasonably cost effective.”
Ablrate has joined fellow P2P lending platform Kuflink as a partner of football clubs.
Kuflink is Southampton Football Club’s P2P lending partner. In February this year, the platform released a marketing video demonstrating how much defender Maya Yoshida, and midfielders Nathan Redmond and Stuart Armstrong, know about P2P.
The lender also has a sports sponsorship with Ebbsfleet United Football Club whereby the platform’s local club in Kent renamed its ground ‘Kuflink Stadium’ as part of the agreement.
