Leeds-based peer-to-peer lending platform Huddle Capital has inked a three-year deal with premiership rugby club Sale Sharks.

Huddle will be the club’s official training kit sponsor for the 2020/21 season, which is due to kick off at the end of November. The Huddle brand will be visible on the sleeves of the club’s home and away strips, and the platform will also have exclusive sponsorship of the south stand at the club’s home ground, the AJ Bell Stadium.

“We’re really excited to be working alongside a top premiership rugby side like Sale Sharks,” said Emily Rackham, credit manager at Huddle Capital.

“The club works alongside some really high-profile brands and is full of players with worldwide appeal, so we’re thrilled to be joining.

“Huddle was set up to provide more access to P2P lending for businesses and individuals, but also to increase awareness that this option exists as a very credible alternative to more traditional methods of borrowing or investing.

“We’ve achieved some fantastic growth recently and we’re really keen to increase this further through the power of the Sale Sharks brand and network of partners.”

As part of the partnership deal, Sale Sharks will work with the P2P lender to educate players, staff and the Community Trust about the benefits of P2P lending.

“Huddle are doing great things in terms of providing more access to the P2P lending and investment market, and educating firms and individuals on the benefits,” said Mark Cueto, commercial director at Sale Sharks.

“They’re a fast-growing business and join us at an exciting time for the company with big ambitions for the future.

“It’s great to see that next season is already shaping up to be a strong one for us in terms of the commercial backing we’ve received from sponsors – both new and renewed support from existing partners – and we look forward to building a really solid relationship with the team at Huddle moving into the new season.”
