Business finance marketplace Funding Xchange has named Ben Sher as its new chief commercial officer.
Sher has almost 20 years’ experience working in the fintech sector, with a focus on capital markets, lending and asset finance.
His appointment comes after Funding Xchange was awarded a £5m allocation from the RBS Remedies Fund in partnership with Shawbrook Bank, Enterprise Nation and the National Association of Finance Brokers to help small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) access alternative funding options.
“The lending and asset finance markets are at an inflection point of change,” said Sher.
“This is ultimately driven by a need for accessible liquidity and SMEs’ desire to engage providers of finance in a frictionless, digital environment. I’m delighted to have joined Funding Xchange, where technology is driving innovation and change in this critical market. Exciting times lie ahead both for Funding Xchange and the market as a whole.”
“Ben is a key hire for Funding Xchange, bringing with him wide experience within the financial technology sector,” added Katrin Herrling, chief executive of Funding Xchange.
“As we expand the scope of the Funding Xchange platform and the portfolio of clients his contribution will be instrumental in continued growth in providing innovative technology to the SME market, lenders and brokers.”
