Assetz Capital set to launch new access accounts marketplace

Marc Shoffman Industry News, News, Top 3 access accounts, Assetz Capital, pandemic

Assetz Capital is set to go live with the launch of a new marketplace for its access accounts that aims to make it easier for investors to make withdrawals.

From Wednesday (12 August), investors will be able to access a dedicated marketplace for access accounts where current users will be able to sell loans at a discount.

It comes after the platform was hit by increased withdrawal requests at the height of the pandemic and had to temporarily pause payments to investors.

“Whilst the way your investments work day-to-day and pay interest won’t change at all, the Access Account Marketplace will give investors greater control over the withdrawal of invested funds and new investment options,” the peer-to-peer lender said in a note to investors.

“By providing investors with a marketplace, we will continue to connect those investors looking to withdraw their funds with those looking to invest, but now we will be able to provide you with the option to apply a discount to loan holdings if you wish, which could help to speed up the withdrawal process, providing there is demand from other investors.”

Discounts are entirely optional and Assetz Capital said they may help speed the early withdrawal of capital from loan investments, otherwise withdrawals will continue in the same manner as before.
