Augmentum Fintech will be added to the FTSE SmallCap Index and FTSE All Share Index from close of business on 19 June.
The FTSE SmallCap Index is an index of small market capitalisation companies while the FTSE All Share Index is a capitalisation-weighted index.
Augmentum Fintech is the UK’s only publicly-listed investment company which focuses on the fintech sector. The firm started the afternoon trading at 103.66 on the London Stock Exchange after opening the day at 104. The company has seen its stock market value undergo some change over the past month, trading at 84.00 on 20 May.
“Since our IPO just over two years ago we have built a balanced portfolio of diversified and differentiated fintech companies,” said Tim Levene, chief executive of Augmentum Fintech.
“Our ambition remains to grow the fund to enable us to continue investing across our portfolio companies, and to seek out other exceptional fintech opportunities in both the UK and the wider European market.”
In March, Augmentum Fintech, which has nine per cent of its portfolio backing Zopa, announced it was confident the ‘big three’ peer-to-peer lender can ride the Covid-19 uncertainty.
