LENDINGCROWD was among the business lenders that received accolades at the first Growth Finance Awards, which took place in London last night.

The awards, organised by research firm Intelligent Partnership, aim to recognise the role that the finance community plays in supporting the growth of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the UK. 18 awards were presented to the winners during a glamorous ceremony that was presented by TV host Claudia Winkleman.

Peer2Peer Finance News was a media partner at the event, while founder and editor-in-chief Suzie Neuwirth presented the award for digital lender of the year to Capital on Tap (pictured). Capital on Tap was a double winner on the night, also taking home a trophy for business growth enabler.

The coveted best P2P business lender award went to LendingCrowd, while the Goji-sponsored best fund manager award went to Downing.

Triple Point was named specialist lender of the year, while Ultimate Finance beat off stiff competition to win best invoice finance provider of the year.

“The UK’s SME community has embraced all forms of growth finance to excel and expand, but its impact is rarely recognised,” said Guy Tolhurst, managing director of Intelligent Partnership.

“That’s why we’re celebrating the providers and champions of growth finance that are contributing ‘more than finance’ to help businesses scale to even greater heights.”
