FUNDING Options has recruited a former Google executive to lead its marketing effort.

The business finance aggregator has hired David Keene as chief marketing officer.

He will be responsible for leading the marketing function at Funding Options to expand its customer base in the UK, Netherlands and Europe while also launching new products and solutions designed to support small businesses.

Keene joins Funding Options from Google where he fulfilled a number of senior marketing roles for more than six years.

“I have been impressed by Funding Options’ disruptive, innovative approach to solving real issues for small businesses,” David Keene, chief marketing officer at Funding Options, said.

“Now is a very exciting time to be joining Funding Options’ skilled team, which is committed to delivering break-through products that make a real difference to the small business community. I am looking forward to leading the marketing team in developing and supporting the company’s ambitious expansion and future growth plans.”

He will join in July and will be based in the Funding Options offices in London.

This is the latest hire designed to further strengthen Funding Options’ senior team following the appointments of Simon Cureton as commercial director, Alastair Preacher as chief product officer and Dean Spencer as sales director.

“This is an exciting time for Funding Options as we continue to scale the business through new product innovation, strategic partnerships, and expansion into Europe,” Ryan Edwards-Pritchard, managing director of Funding Options, said.

“We have been focused on building our senior leadership to support us at this critical point and are therefore delighted that David is joining the team as he brings a wealth of experience in leading EMEA functions and growing and scaling sales revenue for digital businesses.

“We look forward to his contribution to strengthening our award-winning market position as a commercial innovator both in the UK and Europe.”
