Growth Street expands business development team

Marc Shoffman Industry News, News Aldermore Bank, Bibby Financial Services, Growth Street, Samantha Frey, SMEs

GROWTH Street has continued its UK-wide expansion with the appointment of a business development manager for the East Midlands.

The peer-to-peer business lending platform has appointed Samantha Fray to boost origination in the region.

Fray, who previously worked for Aldermore Bank and Bibby Financial Services, will be based in Leicester and will originate and structure funding facilities for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the East Midlands.

“With many high street banks no longer providing in-branch advice to small businesses, we’ve seen a huge knowledge and experience gap develop meaning that thousands of small businesses across the Midlands are missing out on the finance needed to realise their business’s ambitions,” Fray said.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Growth Street team and to have this opportunity to continue supporting SMEs across the Midlands.”

Michael Ellis, head of sales in the North of England for Growth Street, described Fray as “real asset” to the Growth Street team.

“We are rapidly expanding our regional teams to ensure we have ‘boots-on-the-ground’ funding experts right across the length and breadth of the UK,” he said.

“Fray’s experience will help us provide more ambitious entrepreneurs with the funding they need to grow their businesses.

“With a true understanding of what businesses need and an ability to make quick decisions, Growth Street is well positioned to support SMEs in these uncertain times.”
