Assetz boosts Yorkshire presence with new hire

PEER-TO-PEER lender Assetz Capital has hired David Reed (pictured) as its new regional relationship director in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Reed will work with business owners and property developers across the region, offering finance facilities such as secured development finance, commercial mortgages and SME term loans.

Before joining Assetz, he was a commercial director for Leeds-based ERE Property and a client relationship manager at Progeny Corporate Law. He previously spent 27 years at NatWest in a number of senior roles.

“David is a great addition to our team in the Yorkshire and Humber region,” said Damien Druce, director at Assetz Capital.

“He has spent many years working in the finance industry, and his wealth of experience across a range of sectors means he understands the pressures that different companies face.

“We’re confident that David will have a huge impact on our deal execution in his patch, working closely with SMEs and developers to support investment and business growth.”

Reed added that he was looking forward to starting in the role.

“We’ve seen a marked increase in commercial property investment across the Yorkshire region in the last year, meaning that confidence is on the rise and borrower appetite remains high,” he noted.

“Assetz Capital has shown great desire to support businesses that require funding but cannot access finance through traditional means, and this is what attracted me to the role. I’m looking forward to meeting with developers that have ambitious ideas but require the capital to execute their plans.”

Reed’s appointment marks an enhanced presence in the area for Assetz’ business and follows a series of regional expansions over the past few months.

Last year, the firm hired ex-NatWest banker Tirath Singh as a senior relationship manager in the West Midlands, while ex-RBS executive Jake Hiskett was appointed as senior relationship manager in the North West.
