Funding Circle on hunt for property finance expert to boost broker network

Kathryn Gaw Industry News, News broker network, commercial property finance broker, Funding Circle

FUNDING Circle is looking to build relationships with commercial property finance brokers in order to find new borrowers for its unsecured business loans product.

The peer-to-peer lending giant is currently advertising for a property finance expert to take on the role of business development manager (BDM).

“Our exciting and high-performing broker sales channel needs an accomplished BDM to build new relationships with commercial property finance brokers and help them position unsecured business loans alongside their traditional product range,” Funding Circle said in a jobs ad.

The new role starts in January 2019 and the person would be responsible for exploring and testing a new market direction for the business development team, Funding Circle added.

The London-listed P2P lender said that the new BDM would build the firm’s presence among commercial property finance brokers, leading to the acquisition of borrowers through established brokers.

A Funding Circle spokesperson confirmed to Peer2Peer Finance News that this is not a change in focus for the business, but simply a way to access new clients for its existing unsecured business loans product by reaching even more small businesses in the UK.

Funding Circle has had a busy few months, floating on the London Stock Exchange, reporting a record high in new loan originations and securing a £150m British Business Bank facility via its fund.
