Funding Circle launches Android app

FUNDING Circle has launched an Android mobile app for its investors.

The peer-to-peer business lender said that the new app went live on Thursday and can be downloaded free from the Google Play store.

“The Android app will allow you to keep track of your Funding Circle account while you are on the go,” said Funding Circle in a blog post on its website.

“It will offer you fast, secure access to your portfolio, including fingerprint sign-in functionality.”

Investors will be able to check how their portfolio is performing and view their account summary on the app.

However, they will currently need to use their desktop device to add funds to their account or change their lending options.

Funding Circle said this is the first version of the new Android app and that it will be adding more functionality in the future.

The recently-floated P2P giant launched an iPhone app in 2015. Its customers have in the past asked on Funding Circle’s customer support page about whether an Android app would be launched.

As Peer2Peer Finance News reported in February, Funding Circle was on the hunt for new staff to expand its presence in the mobile apps space.

It was advertising for a global mobile apps product manager and for an Android developer as it said it was planning to launch an Android app and re-launch its iPhone app.
