Growth Street appoints Wales and South West BDM
GROWTH Street has appointed Gareth Pritchard as its first business development manager for Wales and the South West of England.
Pritchard joins the peer-to-peer lender from Lloyd’s Bank, where he has spent 17 years in the small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) division.
After joining the bank’s apprenticeship scheme in 2001, Pritchard progressed through to senior roles in the SME Global Transaction Banking Division.
He will be based in Cardiff and his remit will be to educate SMEs on Growth Street’s GrowthLine business finance product.
His appointment follows Growth Street’s pledge to inject £20m into Welsh businesses this year and next.
“With the big banks having retreated from high streets around the country in recent years, there is a real opportunity for alternative finance providers to make a difference to SMEs looking for support in delivering on their plans for growth,” said Pritchard.

“We’re delighted to have welcomed Gareth into the business,” said Julie Ashmore, commercial director at Growth Street. “His experience will help us as we continue to build out our UK-wide team.
“I want us to continue building relationships in industrial hubs around the country. Gareth’s experience will help us spread the word to more businesses and increase awareness of alternative finance options more generally.”
