PEER-TO-PEER Finance Association (P2PFA) associate TLT has named Andrew Lyon (pictured) as its new head of financial services.
The law firm said on Thursday that Lyon, who has been at TLT for 11 years, will lead the growth and expansion of the UK-wide financial services team.
He takes on the role from Richard Waller, who remains a partner at the firm.
Lyon has been at TLT for 11 years and also holds the position of location head for the firm’s London office.
“The financial services market is evolving rapidly – driven by a range of issues from disruptive regulation like Open Banking and PSD2 and the fight against financial crime, to technology innovation – and we’ve been working hand in hand with clients to help them understand and address the challenges and opportunities this creates,” said Lyon.
“Our recent growth across all UK jurisdictions and in traditional and new markets reflects this shift in the industry, and we continue to see opportunities to grow and expand the team.”
TLT is among the professional services firms who have become associates of the P2PFA since the trade body widened its membership to include service providers last year. TLT supports peer-to-peer lenders on a full range of legal issues, particularly in relation to risk management, regulation, funding and data protection.
TLT’s financial services team also supports clearing banks, building societies, specialist lenders and foreign banks as well as the wider fintech sector.
