ZOPA is hiring its first-ever social media executive in an effort to broaden its customer base.

The peer-to-peer lending platform is currently advertising for a person who can “translate the brand and social media strategy into tangible plans which encompass day to day content, product content and campaign content”.

The role will involve working with the wider marketing and product team, as well as analysing and optimising performance by channel.

“With a set of new and exciting products on the horizon, we have a unique opportunity to build new relationships with a broader set of customers,” said Clare Gambardella, chief customer officer at Zopa. “Having a coherent, consistent, and engaging voice on social media is an excellent way of doing this.”

The new social media executive will need to be able to interact with customers via social media 1channels and identify “relevant social trends and conversations which could represent opportunities for the brand to connect”. The successful applicant will also be expected to commission and create content and analyse channel effectiveness and engagement.

According to the job advertisement, applicants must be “comfortable with ambiguity”, adding: “Zopa is a fast-growing business which is going through an exciting period of change. You should be comfortable with some ‘unknowns’ and relish the chance to shape the future thinking”.

Zopa is currently active on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Google Plus, and it has a company network on LinkedIn.
