FOLK2FOLK has announced that its chief executive Jane Dumeresque (pictured) is stepping down this month.

The Cornwall-headquartered peer-to-peer lender said on Thursday that an announcement regarding her replacement will be made in due course. In the interim period, chairman Tim Sawyer will assume the role of executive chairman.

Folk2Folk did not give a reason for Dumeresque’s resignation but heralded her achievements during her tenure at the firm.

Dumeresque joined the business lender as chief executive in 2015. Under her leadership, Folk2Folk grew its cumulative loan book from £30m to over £170m, gained full Financial Conduct Authority authorisation and launched its Innovative Finance ISA.

It also joined the Peer-to-Peer Finance Association and opened new regional offices in Yorkshire, Somerset and the Three Counties.

“Jane has brought us a long way in a short period of time,” said Sawyer. “The culture and legacy she has created will stay with us in the years to come. We wish her well for the future.”
