ThinCats hires Samantha Gray as general counsel
THINCATS, the peer-to-peer business lender, has hired Samantha Gray (pictured) as general counsel.
Gray has over 16 years’ experience in the legal sector, having previously worked as partner at Langley Solicitors and heading up their financial law unit which covered financial services, banking, insolvency and restructuring matters.
In her new role, Gray will provide commercial and legal advice and will be involved in the development of operational and transactional processes. She will also oversee the securities, monitoring and recoveries teams.
“ThinCats have a fantastic reputation for helping businesses across the UK realise their financial goals,” said Gray. “They encourage growth, development and innovation in UK business and it’s exciting to get the opportunity to be a part of that.”
“We are delighted to welcome Sam into the growing team at ThinCats,” said Damon Walford, who joined ThinCats as chief development officer last October.
“She joins us at a very exciting time; the second quarter of 2017 is going to be huge. May was a record month, and the running total is at almost £15m already in the quarter.
“With an incredibly diverse pipeline of loans in prospect, the second quarter of 2017 may well be going down in the ThinCats record books, and the continuing expansion of the team will only help this continue.”
