LANDBAY has appointed mortgage business specialist Paul Brett as managing director of its intermediaries team.

The peer-to-peer lender, which specialises in buy-to-let mortgages, said Brett would be tasked with expanding the reach of its products and strengthening relationships with key third parties.

Brett joins from Foundation Home Loans, where he served as the launch team’s business development director for two years.

He brings over 30 years of experience working in the mortgage industry, having held senior roles at lenders SPML, Borro and Masthaven and founded the Freehold Packager Association, an industry trade body.

“Paul’s extensive experience and impressive list of contacts will play a crucial role as we continue to expand our lending proposition and cement our position in the market,” said John Goodall, Landbay’s chief executive.

“His track record speaks for itself and his unique understanding of intermediaries will bring much value to what is an already dynamic team.”

The P2P lender’s addition to its senior team comes shortly after the launch of its Innovative Finance ISA, after it received ISA manager status in January.

“Landbay stood out as a company that is truly committed to its customers and the Intermediary mortgage market, with a compelling, innovative and sector disrupting approach to lending,” said Brett.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to the business and joining the team at such an exciting time for the company and the sector as a whole.”
