Two UK P2P platforms make LendIt competition shortlist
TWO UK peer-to-peer platforms have made the shortlist of PitchIt @ Lendit, a competition to find the rising star of the online lending and fintech space, which is held each year at LendIt’s European conference.
From the UK, LendingWell and Lenderwize are the two P2P platforms to make the final list of eight contenders, alongside credit metrics firm Credit Kudos and identify verification service Selified. The other finalists are based overseas, including German P2P platform GIROMATCH and digital insurer KASKO, Norway’s crowdfunding platform Vester and Kenyan P2P platform PesaZetu.
The shortlisted companies will be invited to attend LendIt Europe, which takes place in London on 10 and 11 October, where they will pitch their business to a panel of expert judges. The overall winner will receive a personalised plan from competition sponsor Capital One Growth Labs, so that they can further develop their innovations.
“I congratulate the eight companies for being shortlisted for PitchIt @ LendIt,” said LendIt’s chairman and co-founder Peter Renton. “The competition is a great way of increasing their profile with the international fintech community and the finalists will be given the opportunity to learn from industry leaders, secure investment and meet potential partners.”
The judging panel includes Amy Lenander, managing VP and CMO at Capital One, UK, Nadeem Shaikh, founder and chief executive at Anthemis Group, Ravi Anand, managing director, ESF Capital, and Simon Atkinson, a director at Liberum Alternative Finance, which helped to found finalist LendingWell.
The first print issue of Peer-to-Peer Finance News will be available at LendIt Europe, which takes place on 10 and 11 October at the InterContinental London. To organise a meeting with editor-in-chief Suzie Neuwirth during the conference, please email [email protected].
