Assetz Capital plots third crowdfunding round
ASSETZ Capital is set to launch a third fundraising round on Seedrs.
It is inviting existing investors to pre-register for its latest crowdfunding campaign to help grow the peer-to-peer business lender.
The platform has already attracted more than £5m through Seedrs, with £3.2m raised in 2015 and £2m in 2017.
Both fundraising campaigns exceeded their targets having only aimed for £2m and £1m respectively.
“This Seedrs funding round allows our supporters to be a part of a larger anticipated institutional funding round and is a 2019/20 tax year Enterprise Investment Scheme-eligible tax beneficial investment,” Stuart Law (pictured), chief executive of Assetz Capital, said.
“We already have over 1,000 private investors as shareholders and many of those are also lenders on our marketplace.
“This funding round is intended to fund a number of projects that cement our leading position in the market and allow us to move up to an institutional level of scale, brand recognition and valuation.”
It comes after Assetz Capital said in March that it was set to welcome at least £110m in institutional investments over the coming months as part of an ongoing expansion plan.
This is in addition to its recently-announced funding partnership with German bank Varengold.
