Another ex-RBS executive joins ThinCats business development team
BUSINESS banking specialist Stuart Thompson (pictured) has joined ThinCats as director of regional business development.
His appointment expands the peer-to-peer lending firm’s London-based team, which is led by Dave Sherrington.
Thompson has a decade of experience in business banking for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), having previously held roles at Barclays Corporate Finance, Royal Bank of Scotland and Clydesdale Bank. In his career to date, he has specialised in providing finance to support event-driven transactions such as management buyouts, acquisitions, growth finance and business refinancing.
In his new role with ThinCats, he will be responsible for originating and structuring lending facilities for growing SMEs across London and the South West.
In January the group hired another former RBS executive, Sam Lewis, to its regional business development team.

“Having spent my whole career to date working for high street banks, I’ve seen first-hand how banks have limited their appetite for SME cashflow lending, ignoring those ambitious SMEs that require finance to grow,” said Thompson.
