Zopa’s Janardana among confirmed speakers at LendIt Europe
ZOPA chief executive Jaidev Janardana is among the keynote speakers confirmed for this year’s LendIt Europe.
The head of the UK’s largest consumer peer-to-peer lender is part of the top line-up at Europe’s largest fintech and lending event, which takes place from 9-10 October 2017 in London.
Janardana has been at the helm of Zopa since co-founder Giles Andrews moved to a chairman role.
“The fintech industry continues to grow by raising the bar on product design and customer experience,” said Janardana. “Zopa is proud to be on the forefront of driving this change. We look forward to finding out at LendIt how other businesses are navigating the sector.”
More than 120 speakers will take to the stage during the two-day event with expertise spanning banking, lending, technology and regulation. A variety of topics will be covered, from the future of online lending and its role in fintech, to how banks are approaching the new connected world, LendIt said.
Other confirmed speakers include Lending Club founder Renaud Laplanche, who has since set up another fintech company, Upgrade, and former Barclays boss Antony Jenkins, who has founded fintech firm 10X Future Technologies. Starling Bank’s Anne Boden and Karen Mills, who was a member of President Barack Obama’s Cabinet focused on small business lending, will also be speaking.
“The speakers who’ll be leading the talks at LendIt this year offer a phenomenal range of expertise in a variety of different industries within the fintech space,” said LendIt chairman and co-founder Peter Renton. “The speeches will cover some of the most critical issues for fintech, at a time when we’re seeing plenty of change within the sector as a whole.”
