Sancus increases Northern profile with new hire
SANCUS FINANCE has expanded its presence in the North of England by hiring Jennifer Roberts in the newly-created role of regional manager – north.
Roberts will be based in Manchester and will be responsible for increasing awareness of the P2P platform’s invoice financing business in the region.
She previously worked at HSBC before moving on to forex risk management specialist AFEX, where she worked closely with corporates and SMEs. She was most recently national sales manager at the charity Age UK.
“Jennifer will bring fresh perspective to the team having seen the challenges that firms face when trading with firms outside the UK,” said Richard Whitehouse, sales director at Sancus Finance. “With the UK economy continuing to experience uncertainty in the aftermath of the Brexit Referendum and the recent General Election, we want UK businesses to know that we are fully committed to supporting their financing needs and growth plans.”

Her appointment follows a series of high level hires at the company, including former Wellesley Finance’s executive Peter Hudson as director of property finance. The firm, which was formerly known as Platform Black, has undergone a period of sustained investment this year, as it tightened its focus on SME lending. To date, more than £570m has been provided in funding to SMEs and their owners.
“I am really excited about joining Sancus Finance at a time when they are investing and they regard the Northern region as an area of particular focus for them,” said Roberts. “There are many businesses in the region who are looking for financial solutions that will give them the certainty of funding they need to have the confidence to put their plans in motion. We need businesses to feel confident and to invest in growth if we are to support growth in the UK economy.”
Roberts will work with the wider Sancus team to provide innovative funding solutions for firms looking to access finance to support their business aspirations. She will be working closely with financial intermediaries in the region, and local business leaders.
